I have a flight CLT-IAD-BRU coming up in April. UA CLT-IAD but SN metal/UA codeshare IAD-BRU. I have a 1:14 connection and will be checking a bag. IAD-BRU is in premium econ. 1:14 is usually way shorter of a connection than I'd take (I'm used to 2 hrs-plus in ATL or JFK on DL) so I'm a little twitchy.

From the pinned post it looks like I meet the MCT for dom->intl. Seeing where the inbound CLT-IAD flight lands on the UA website has been hit-and-miss. The first two nonstop flights seem to arrive at a D gate but the third/last flight of the day always seems to arrive at A2A/A3A. The second flight of the day (leaves CLT 14:54, arrives IAD 16:28) roughly corresponds to the time of my flight in April so I'm assuming that I'll arrive at a D gate.

First question: is my assumption of arriving at a D gate reasonable?
Second question: where will the SN flight likely depart from?
Third question: whose app should I use to track my bag IAD-BRU? United's or Brussels'?
To answer your questions:

1. No. You could arrive at A (A1-A6 specifically, UA doesn't use the other part of A), C, D, or even Z. A is the easiest, because you would just walk to the B gates from there and it's not very far. Z is the next easiest, there is an underground walkway to the B gates right by the entrance of the Z gates (you could also walk to the train station and take the train to B but it's easier to just use the underground walkway). If you arrive into C it would most likely be a gate like C24 or C28. You wouldn't be in a gate from C1-C14 in that time due to all the wide bodies taking up that space. Either way, it's not very hard from C. Just walk to the C train station (escalators down to the walkway by C14) and take the train to the A gates station and walk to B from there, easy walk.

If arriving into D, it could be pretty much anywhere from D2 to D29. D concourse has a "people mover" shuttle that goes from D to both the main terminal and the A gates. Take the one to the A gates and you can walk over to B from there. 1:14 is definitely a little tighter than I'd want before a TATL flight but it'll be doable at Dulles and it doesn't suffer from as bad of reliability issues like EWR and ORD so often do.

2. 100% from the B gates, specifically from the gates the poster before me noted. That is 100% guaranteed for Brussels Airlines at IAD.

3. Not sure, will leave that to someone else. My thought is probably UA for the first flight to confirm it made it on and off, and then the SN app to see if it made it onto your flight to BRU.

Have a good trip.
