Could look at fares ex-Canada. As expensive as fares from up here are for TATL (or TPAC or LatAm FWIW), checking fares on DL (for TPAC and LatAm) results in stratospheric fares by comparison. At this point, I think it'll be hard to find any TATL BC fares on AF/KL for under CAD 3.5K again (Spring last year seemed to have been close to that, though as others have said above, might be reduced fares for summer travel).
Not sure if you are looking for XP or actually going TATL, but for the latter you could look at non-MEX Mexico origination (e.g., TIJ, CUN).
