OnePass Infinite Elite was advertised between 1987 and 1993, the qualification requirement was that you earned Gold Elite for 5 consecutive years. During that time the required mileage for Gold varied between 50,000 and 70,000. After 1993 those Elites who had met the requirement for one or more years were permitted to continue to qualify for Infinite status, making 1997 the last year to complete qualification for lifetime status. In 1998, when the Elite tiers were changed from Bronze, Silver and Gold to Silver, Gold and Platinum, Infinite Elites were elevated from Gold to Platinum.

Of course, in 1993 Continental's chances of survival seemed limited.
