This video is the source of many misconceptions and just irresponsible, in my opinion. RTW fares are not easy to understand, so there is a degree of simplification involved.. but he could at least be accurate. I think he makes the case on how Finnair has a potentially easier path to Oneworld emerald at least. But his explanation of rtw fares is not great.
  • He pushes people towards booking on the Oneworld site,
    • then says he's never used the site for himself,
    • then says the ticketing will be done by the first carrier,
    • then says it might be Qantas ticketing regardless of the first carrier,
    • then he recommends that people call BA to have them ticket and the price that BA comes back with should be the same as the Oneworld site.
  • He says the Oneworld site will flag all sorts of errors
    • not because the site is wrong but rather he implies it's user error..
    • and that users should just keep trying different flights to get past the errors.
  • He equates Global Explorer with Oneworld Explorer, when in fact these are two very different fare products.
  • He suggests that users should abuse ExpertFlyer's 5-day free trial by registering with fake email addresses to maintain free access.
