I was in first on a 757 where the PPs weren't on. I asked the FA if the pilot had the circuit turned off. He said it's the cleaning people who turn it off (electrocution hazard?) and just forgot to turn them on again (unsaid to FA..."Shouldn't that be an FA responsibility?" ). He pointed out a light on the bulkhead near the front exit, about waist high. When it's on, the power to the powerports is on.
