I completed a 5 nights stay and here is my report
-Late check out is granted for 12pm on the day of checking out, i checked with the W Punta Cana before arrival and late check out is 14:00 base on availability
-Welcome gift is a fruit platter in the room
-the front desk said I was upgraded to a W suite, but I cannot tell the difference at all compare to a regular room. Maybe just a sofa area between the TV and the King bed? the balcony is bigger from what I can tell.
-Resort is nicely build, however, it is showing some wear and tear already, very cheap furniture. We also have leaking issue in the shower like others mentioning in other forum.
-Definitely need to get a room facing the inside of the resort, or room close to the beach if you want a view
-Staff is very nice, but communication is a big issue if you run into problem or have any question about food/ingredients.
-I notice they respond slower on the chat compare to the other hotels. i have to send follow up several times on my request before checking in and during my stay.
-Highly recommend to download the app before getting to the resort, especially during busy season so that you can plan ahead and book your restaurant. All the activities and location are available
-Others guests really enjoy Satsuma, i think Scena is the place you want to dine. Please remember this is DR, do not have high expectation for Satsuma or Noodle Bar to be authentic, please treat them like Asian Fusion restaurant. I also find the description incorrect on Satsuma as raw bar, it is a Sushi restaurant after all.
-Trade market is serving Buffet style breakfast, lunch or sometimes dinner.
-Outpost cafe has good coffee, salad, pastry, dessert and other sweets throughout the day. It can get busy in the morning!
it is overall a great All Inclusive hotel with excellent food. Really enjoy the infinity pool and able to view the Ocean from it. Chill bar seems to be more crowded because of the swim up bar.
The cash and point rate are definitely on the expensive side from the Marriott website.
