My thoughts but that seems to be a source of disagreement here.

I’ve only gotten a dirty look once in 50+ years of flying which is why I think it’s a small minority. Thinking a poll might shed some light on that.

I find it ironic that people (at least one in this thread) don’t have an issue making statements that make me uncomfortable because a polite inquiry makes them uncomfortable (discomfort having nothing to do with disagreement),
