It's not a plane I'm looking forward to. I'm not a fan of the windows since you are unable to look out when the flight attendants decide to make all the windows dark plus it's a torture chamber in Y. It looks like they will be J heavy. I wonder if J would be better than an A350, but it is narrower than the A350. kW is actually better on the 787 than the 350 because 2-3-2 is better than 2-4-2 IMO because the fuselage is slightly narrower so it's a tight fit for 8 across in W.
I'm assuming that they will be based in ATL or JFK to fly to Europe and/or South America since they are good for dense routes that aren't super long. The A350 is better for long routes or the shorter 787s.
I do find it ironic that NW was the first airline to order the 787 and that order was cancelled post merger and now they ordered it. I guess their hope for a true 767 replacement will never be realized. Bummer.
