I ultimately just gave up. Tried numerous times to call Alaska and have them speak with someone at Aer Lingus. Spoke with their international travel partner desk as well as Alaska Global desk and tried to request a waiver code. Nothing worked. Ultimately just asked for a refund and booked with cash since I didn’t want to risk prices going up needed leave on a specific date. My plan is to still file a complaint with Alaska and Aer Lingus regarding the situation but not sure if anything will come of this.
The airline is responsible under EU law, in this case Lingus.
Not the travel agent, in this case Alaska Airlines.
