Just attempted a same day standby (for tomorrow morning) but confused why a confirmed change isn’t available. Ticketed XN. New flight (departs about 4 hours earlier) shows XN9 on expert mode. Do you have status with United? Is there a fare difference you’re looking to avoid? As all award tickets are refundable, if this is a one-way ticket, or if the return is still available, you can just cancel and book the one you want.
Standby is always for Y. It doesn’t mean anything.
