There's at least one garage within three blocks of the MH that costs $6 overnight, if you enter after 6pm and leave by 7am. Or you can drive around and usually find a free parking spot--again, if you leave by 7 or 8am--not on California, but Pine, Mason, Sacramento, etc. Really, it's a pretty safe area, about as good as it gets in the city.
