I have been through T2 multiple times mid-morning for CX or SQ departures and the fast track queue has been merged with the normal queue. The staff member does not prioritise the fast track customers, merely alternates between the two queues. Given the demographics (fast track=solo/business/couples whereas normal=families/groups???) this results in multiple regular queue passengers being sent to the machines for each fast track passenger.
So Manchester airport "fast" track is, in my experience, slower than the normal queue.
Pathetic and totally avoidable.
Just checking that you are aware there is more than one fast track queue? There is one near the E checkin counters for BA and one near the A counters. If one is closed or looks like it has been merged you could try the other.
I'm sure you knew this, just mentioning it on the off chance it is helpful.
