For good reason. Food is much better at LAX. The UC at LAX is also pretty nice, with the outdoor terrace. The one countervailing issue at LAX is if you're arriving at TBIT, it's a ways to T7 and the UA lounges.
I have never been to the SFO PL so I can’t comment on the difference in food quality. Though between LAX PL and *A lounge I prefer the food and beverage offerings at the LAX PL. I now usually go to the airport a little earlier so I can go to the LAX PL and have a nice meal with table service, even if I am flying out of TBIT.
