I highly doubt you can claim 2x UK261 as it's essentially just one claim against the same ticket/PNR (and airline). You were originally scheduled to arrive in RDU at 5pm on Jan. 8 but didn't arrive until 3:45pm Jan. 9 due to the cancellation.

It (hopefully) shouldn't be any issue to claim UK261 against the original cancellation but I could see trying to get it twice with AA would muddy things up.

Now, in a hypothetical case where you were rebooked to say a regular DL flight the next day, and that DL flight ended up delayed 6 hrs, then in that situation you could probably make two claims against both AA and DL.
