Best overall option. Rooms, facilities, service, and location all come together really well, and it delivers a full luxury experience.
🥈 2. EDITION
Smaller scale — more of a boutique feel, modern design, a good rooftop setup, and very personalised service. A strong choice if you prefer a more contemporary stay.
🥉 3. Waldorf Astoria
Good if you are specifically looking for very formal, palace-style luxury with a strong focus on privacy and service. However, compared to Shangri-La and EDITION, it’s less of an all-round option for most travellers, particularly if you’re not seeking that full “palatial” experience. If spa is important, I'd move this up to second place.
I'd then put RC and Rosewood in 4th and 5th place.
The Raffles opening this Spring will hopefully elevate the luxury hotel scene in Jeddah, along with the Four Seasons next year. Fredrick Blomqvist (ex FS Bengaluru, SS Red Sea) will be the opening GM.
