Welcome to FT. Yes NONREF means non refundable. It appears you can change the flight date for £150 plus any change in fare. So that's not something I'd recommend. And I wouldn't recommend cancelling as you won't get much back other than the UK APD. I think you are now trying to book another one way flight from New Orleans to London. Rather than buy a one way far home you could book a return flight from New Orleans with the London to USA sector as far in the future as possible - that might be cheaper.

If you are a member of BA's frequent flyer scheme you could also look at buying Avios and booking a one way reward seat from New Orleans - that might be cheaper than a cash fare and assumes rhere is availability on your date you want to travel.
