I get the frustration, but many features of the AP program seem broadly similar. E.g. I more or less never drink alcohol or check bags. I would love some AP points every time I enter a lounge and only drink water, or fly without a checked bag. Similarly some people call the Concierge all the time, others never do. Some people use priority seat selection that comes with status, others never do (because they book fare classes or cabins that include it, etc.). Eups seem more like a currency that should be worth something, rather than just a benefit one doesn't avail oneself of, but I'm not sure that line can really be made sense of.
