I typically call AC with my routing and fare codes and let them do that hard work. Your milage may vary. I have had issues booking multiple pax and Mukti city bookings through powertools. But most agents can make the booking, if not hang up and call again. Or call concierge if your SE, they always get it right.
I typically call AC Reservation (SE Desk) with my routing. Usually this is OK for relatively complex itinerary, but for more complex itinerary things can get interesting. Recently I completed an RTW booking. Matrix was able to price it, however two AC Reservation agents at the SE Desk were not able to recreate the itinerary -- they were unable to save the routing in the AC system for whatever reason, despite several tries and almost 1 hour on the phone. I then called the SE Concierge and she was able to create the booking, and then pass the file on to the ticketing department for pricing. The RTW apparently has to be priced manually. A ticketing agent then called back with the price and a link to pay. All is good and the price is correct.
