I just completed a stay last month at this property, this thread was a wealth of knowledge (appreciate the house water suggestion).
A few points:
-Pre-Arrival services weren't great:
-Never received detailed information on who would be picking me up, meeting point locations, contact numbers in case of issues or help desk locations. In the end it worked out fine, but think this can be refined to luxury hotel standards
-Disclosed food allergies multiple times and was disappointed that no snacks were offered on the yacht transfer. The hotel has some of the best baked pastries that I've ever had
at a buffet, which makes the lack of offerings on board puzzling. It wouldn't kill them to have a few croissants, donuts, and other pastries available.
-The reef villas are centrally located and everything is a leisurely bike ride away, the overwater villas are at the far end on each side of the resort. I was glad we weren't booked in one of these, the winds were strong and it would have been a long bike ride, depending on the dining options. We stayed at a beach villa on the day of late checkout and were glad that we didn't stay in one of these, minimal view of the beach and ocean. Of note, there are only three queen reef villas available with point bookings (508,510, 319), expect one of these if you have a points booking. 319 is ocean facing, I'd push for lagoon facing, less wind, no construction, no lights (aside from the resort lights which aren't obnoxious), and less noise from the ocean waves.
-We weren't charged an additional guest fee for our points reservation (4 guests total).
-There are a lot of fruit bats on the island, you'll be startled at first but they are harmless and actually quite interesting creatures.
-Mosquito repellant is freely available and you'll need it.
-The staff is absolutely wonderful and genuinely care for the guest experience.
I've attached a picture of the resort map, though I suspect it will change with the upcoming closure.
