Staying ahead of the curve will be hard. Have been in Dubai over Christmas and, if you can, the place to be is Atlantis The Royal.
F1 drivers, CR7, ... all are going to Atlantis Royal at the moment. Same will happen in Maledives, especially as the resort will be reachable without plane transfer just by boat. That it is a man-made island and Malé // WA can bee seen will be no matter - you will be at Atlantis.
However, as the capacity is limited, only the very exclusive can join the Atlantis and the "rest" needs to go e.g. WA...
