Just to make sure I understand how this works. Spouse and I on same PNR in PY, 1J seat available. They will not split the PNR before t-55, they will after that. If only one gets upgraded, does the other lose the original seat and potentially get a PY middle after the process completes? Or will they stay in the original seat. Trying to avoid the potential PY middle seat scenario I have read on this thread in the past. Or I may be confused as usual!
I can go see the gate agent before t-55 to remove us from the upgrade list if we want to stay together correct?
Based on my experience a couple of weeks ago if you get upgraded your spouse should keep her/his seat. (In my case it was Y and J. Yes I swapped with her. My Y seat ended up being vacant. I may have gotten the better part of that deal, but that's going off topic). You get the new PNR when upgraded.
And from what I remember upthread you can go to the agent prior to the list being run. If there is only 1 J available they can remove your request.
