Driving in Turkey
I agree that if LDW and PAI are included, renting a car can be fine, but the daily cost does add up, especially for short trips. The point about automatic cars being uncommon is also important; not everyone is comfortable with manual transmission.
Driving in Turkey can definitely feel a bit “adventurous” for visitors, so for a straightforward trip like İzmir to Ephesus, a taxi really does make sense. It’s often more relaxed, and once the price is agreed in advance, there are no surprises. And yes, the occasional tea stop or friendly carpet shop visit is all part of the local experience 🙂
