This past week at BUF, I had made my reservation for 7pm, but my flight arrived early. Sometimes I have a car assigned in the app or can choose, but not this time and the Preferred booth wasn't open. When I went back to the regular desk, they were able to get me a car and then they said the price had gone up by ~$60. I asked if it was because I was early, and the response was "Yes, you are almost an hour early." My reply was, "It is only 35 minutes. Just adjust the return time up." There was then some internal discussion behind the counter if they could change the return time for a preferred member (which made no sense), but they eventually did it and everything was fine. I usually book 24 hour period rentals just in case something happens and my departure gets pushed back, but maybe I should shave an hour off the return when booking in case this happens again, since they are being more weird about everything it seems.
