US carriers don't seem to weigh bags. I'm surprised they dont. It seems like airlines in the rest of the world have taken advantage of this money grab with ridiculous 8kg, 6kg carry on limits (sometimes including your personal bag) with planes flying with empty bins.
There was a report in the SQ forum recently about a PPS flying in F being hassled at SFO about having a carry-on exceeding 7kg. An empty Rimowa Cabin (aluminum) weighs over 4 kg. Thank goodness UA doesn't pull any of that nonsense. Wouldn't be surprised to see WN start doing it, the direction they're heading.
