Who is liable? BA, Avios or Kate Spade?
On the final screen, it says:
”Your retailer will investigate your claim. Please be advised that it could take upto 90 days to receive a response. For travel or hotel related queries it may take up to six months to receive a response.”
Why is it the retailer (Kate Spade?) investigating? Surely they are not the ones who type the 250 on the Avios website? And on that note, who is? BA? Avios? Some third party?
I only spent $198 on an item I plan to keep so I’m hoping low figures like this are honoured, but would want to know their reasoning for declining. What separates this from a bait and switch type scam?
If I buy a MacBook and the offer says free AirPod Max’s worth £499 and they send me the MacBook but no headphones, I’d send it back. It isn’t “free” - it’s part of the decision making process. They can’t claim that a refund of “free” is zero and therefore I simply received the MacBook I asked for, albeit without the free gift.
