The 3-night stay was amazing. I had booked a standard King room, and was upgraded a day before arriving to an Executive King, so we had lounge access. I don’t know if this was because we had booked a Hilton for Luxury rate or because we both are HH Gold, which in Europe still seems to mean something.

The room itself is spacious, has a super comfortable bed and a great bathroom setup where you can take a shower and jump in the tub without leaving the ‘wet’ area. Water pressure was great.

Housekeeping came every day, but we didn’t receive turndown service. I also didn’t enquire.

The room can be seen on the YouTube video my wife made https://youtu.be/L4H2b6zKIL0?si=ROXNaIkwn2DftId_

(I hope it’s allowed to post this link here).

Breakfast was buffet spread with the basics. Sparkling wine was available, and there was an à la carte option to order dishes, at no extra cost. Between my wife and I, we ordered about everything on the menu over the course of 3 days.
I had some great coffees also, both hot and iced.

The executive lounge was a nice option to have, but I’m not sure I would pay extra for it. It’s good to grab a soda or sparkling water and have a drink and saved us some money that way. There is no breakfast in the lounge. They do have a happy hour from 6 to 8 pm, serving mid range alcohol. I was very happy to see Bulleit Bourbon and stuck with that. Wine and beer also available. Some snacks like macarons and cake in the afternoon, and pretty decent food (but limited options) in the evening.

We were in Hamburg to explore the city, do some shopping and visit some Christmas markets and the location is awesome for this.

We went to the Greta Oto Bar one evening to spend our property credit and had 3 cocktails each. All VERY good. The ambiance seemed great in the restaurant as well.

All in all, a very good experience and I would gladly return.

Two things that are noteworthy, don’t really matter to me but might (have) to others.

- some of the staff are clearly still in training. They are all super friendly though, and very efficient.
- They were working in the executive lounge on the lighting, installing led strips and the such.
Staying in the hotel at the moment. It's a very nice property, though lacks any sort of "buzz" - probably because the main floor is on the second level. Booked a King Premium and upgraded to a King Suite as a Diamond. The staff are all very pleasant, but there are some major flaws.

The Suite is spacious, and the fixtures and fittings of high quality - it's just incredibly sparse in the furniture department. There is loads of room for a dining table, for example, but instead there is just a big empty area, making the room feel a bit bare and not as cosy as it should.

The Executive Lounge is poor for a Conrad. It's not very big, and the seating is mainly either at one big table that seats 10, or a couple of lines of banquettes where tables are squished together. Again there is quite a lot of empty space that could be used better. The drinks selection in the evening is poor - one white, one red, and one sparkling wine on offer. Only the sparkling wine is German, the rest being Chilean. (The hotel restaurant is Latin American themed, so that probably explains it). There are limited sprits. Nothing like the choice I'd expect - and nothing like you'd get in equivalent brands like IC or whatever. The food is also limited in choice. The staff are a bit on the scarce side, though very pleasant to interact with then they are there. There seem to be issues with keeping things stocked up/replenished.

The pool area is nice enough, but it's basically just a big underground room with a (very cold) rectangular pool in it. There is a raised area that presumably used to have a spa pool in it, but if my assumption is right it's been removed. There is a precipitous drop from the edge of this area which in the UK would almost certainly have some sort of safety rail around it(!)

The hotel is ultimately a bit bland - there are some art works etc throughout, but it all looks a bit unfinished (though that may be a design choice). They also need to improve signage throughout the building - I walked past the door to the Executive Lounge as it looks like the entrance to a big cupboard (there is no sign outside the lounge - just a sign at the end of the corridor that points in the general direction). Same in the spa/pool area which is a bit of a subterranean adventure to find, with very limited signage.

Overall, it's a nice hotel with some very easily fixed problems to bring it up to Conrad standard.

PS - no sign of a Conrad Bear yet (and also no sign of turndown service, which I'm surprised by). Will report back if that changes!
