Last year I used a 85K Bonvoy Brilliant card Cert to book a 95K room at the MKH using the top up to add 10k to it, but also paying a cash upgrade with the award ($200.00) for a beach front room.

Today doing the same exercise, it won't let me book a 95K room on a stay that requires a cash upgrade portion.

Did the T&C change or was I just lucky before? And I had done this a few times btw.
