I might not have worded it correctly, but when I said credit to JAL I mainly meant using my JAL number so I get OWS benefits - allowing additional baggage on AA even for the BE fares. So, less on accumulating AA status or AA/JAL mileage, but more just taking advantage of the status I currently have (and hopefully will keep with JGC 3 star once I hit 1500 LSP).
