Concierge is wrong, and people really need to stop listening to them (and any front-line agents) about stuff like this.

A deadheading pilot would be on the list. The "people confirmed on this flight" is wrong for you for PY, but correct for you for J.

And the only "common" way being first on the list wouldn't mean you get the seat is if Y is overbooked, so they need to move people up, rather than accepting new pax on the flight.

Like based on the loads when I looked, I'd agree that you're probably going to end up in Y. But that's probably the only correct thing you were told.
