Fast forward to this week, I had the same issue two days ago (showing 7U, but there is only 1U). I kind of assumed that there was no way there was 7U, so I called in first to confirm. I agree, although - this is super frustrating.
I ran into the same thing a few days ago. Thanks for posting as this shows that both this and the problem of reservations using companion certificates booking the outbound leg into the wrong fare class have been known to Alaska for months.
