When you look at the competitive environment which other European carriers are serving a hot breakfast on their shortest European routes? Answer = none.

BA has always actually been a leader (shock horror) in breakfast catering on its shortest flights. No way you will see a hot option on AF or KL or LH etc.

AF will offer you some fruit, yoghurt and a pastry. KLM some refined carbs in a cardboard box. And LH some cold dish. And to be fair, this is what these airlines will continue to offer throughout the day. Also worth mentioning, most of these airlines do not have an option b on the menu except for take it or leave it.
