Just went through FCO literally 30 minutes ago.
UK passport holders are directed to a machine which takes your photo and fingerprints (even if you’re already registered on the system), then you go through an e-gate. No passport stamping or manned passport control.
i went through Fco on the 14th dec and last night.
14th. Register at the terminals. Through e gate. Sorted
last night. No egates. Queue about an hour.
when you get to the desk they do fingerprints and photo again which is slow. I said to the guy that I thought the photo and prints were a one off ( as if not why use the terminals to register but seemingly no. He said every time. So if no egates then it is chaos
when we did use the egates our passport was stamped.
and an exit in realtime. Leaving post gates they stamp you so the poster above seem to have missed stamping for some reason as in 2 entries and 2 exits we have been stamped on them all
