Still wondering what UA will decide to do with the 753 fleet as none have received NEXT, the 40 73Gs will receive a low density configuration, presumably for destinations that sell well upfront but not so much in the back OR flights that require higher frequency, thinking DCA-ORD for example. Those 753s will be doing more West Coast-Hawai'i flying than the 77HD fleet next summer given those aircraft are being forced to park due to teething PW engine issues, for example, only seeing one daily 77HD on SFO-HNL and twice daily 77HD on LAX-HNL.
Good thing is the 738 fleet is nearly complete with NEXT mods and a majority of 739ERs have them as well although UA has not prioritised the aircraft without DirecTV to receive the product first. There are 20 737 MAX 9s without NEXT so its possible UA could finish NEXT on these aircraft this year but probably next year.
