A very small sample but have neighbours/friends who travel down to Costa Rica from the YYJ vicinity regularly (one set has property, the other family. Both have taken to flying via YYZ and avoiding a U.S. transit this year (have usually transited through the U.S. prior), though one set also considers the additional vet expenses a U.S. transit incurs there days.

As for land travel, I'd like to see what effect the photo requirements for land entry and exit is going to have.
