Additionally, avoid check-in luggage at SFO at any cost. The BA flights have a propensity for arriving just after 747s from Manila, Taipei, and Seoul. As I have a US passport, the immigration line only affects Mrs. Monk, but no matter how long her line, if there is any check in luggage it seems as there is an additional wait.

F lounge at SFO is, as mentioned, barely adequate. Though, the direct access to the plane is a plus.

One other comment: car rental pickup at SFO is miles from anywhere. I believe they might have built a separate rail station for that now, but I remember chewing up a lot of time getting to and returning from the car.
