Stay report 9th to 11th December

Hi,

I spent two nights here mid week ( Tue- Thursday) after coming from Hilton tokyo bay and then going to Hilton Tokyo Odaiba
No upgrade from King City view ( was advised the hotel was full and the Lobby lounge was packed in the evening and afternoon ( lots of people having afternoon tea). Was given Rm 3332
Room in good condition and copy of Japan times provided daily
Checked in the executive lounge and asked and given a 1pm check out. Was able to book a Sushi lunch at Kazahana for the next day. Lots of EL staff remembered me from my previous visits
EL afternoon tea was good ( did not use the EL for evening cocktails as I was out at tokyo dome city and Oi racecourse for winter illuminations
Breakfast in cerise was very good and lounge breakfast good with the lounge breakfast being relatively quiet. Did like the matcha lattes. No mention of the traffic light advisory for breakfast ( but was not there prior to christmas or new year periods)
Pool and gym were good and relatively quiet ( did like the warm black bean tea in the pool area)

The Sake I had with the sushi lunch ( very good and helped by the HH D 25% discount) . Better value than at dinner

I do not think there was a requirement to make reservations for evening cocktails ( did not use it then) though they seemed to be using at least China Blue as overflow for breakfast ( i was sat in Cerise both days)
After check out at 1pm stayed in the lounge for half an hour with a coffee then went for a quick walk before coming back at 3pm, getting my cases and going to Tokyo odaiba
Another very solid stay with very good service ( it is a small thing but it is very nice to be remembered on return visits ( and there will be a lot more people who are a lot more frequent stayers than myself
I paid Y75K per night which was very good ( I did note that points did seem to increase to now 130k pn at time of booking)
No christmas decorations at Caretta shidome ( just a few illuminated green plant pots) though some illuminations around the old shimbashi railway station close to the hotel
Regards

TBS
