Major changes for 2027 (or 2028) will be announced:
1. No more lounge access for Basic Eco tickets (mostly referring to *G on int'l flights). UA may start it but *A is going to fully implement this across the board IMO.
2. No more UA Club access for UA *G on int'l flights on any coach fare. This one may come first before the above.
3. Basic eco tickets become more restrictive: no PQD/PQF, no lifetime flight miles
4. Continued tweaking of the PlusPoints dynamic system. Upgrades on SFO-SIN will go to hundreds of PPs one-way while EWR-LHR on a low day may stay around 80.
5. Further expansion and complete gutting of the Mileage program for dynamic award seats akin to Delta. Polaris will start seeing the 300K+ one-way awards as commonplace.
Yes, basically I think UA Is going to make things far worse for flyers than better. They will probably announce some new routes which will be exciting but I don't bother guessing those because only they have the data of where people start and end their trips to the point that flying to a particular destination would make sense for them.
