SWISS International Airlines Economy Review from London-Heathrow to Zürich

I recently flew SWISS on a short hop from London Heathrow to Zurich, a sector that’s usually little more than an hour in the air and fairly routine. However, this flight turned out to be far more memorable than expected thanks to an excellent crew, a calm and well-managed cabin, and a genuinely thoughtful surprise on board.

From boarding through to landing, the experience was smooth and unhurried. The cabin atmosphere was notably peaceful, and the crew struck a perfect balance between being attentive and unobtrusive. Small touches, often overlooked on short intra-European flights, really stood out here and elevated the journey well beyond expectations for such a brief sector.

Service was efficient and friendly, and the overall impression was one of quiet professionalism. What really sealed it, though, was an unexpected gift from the crew, which was a lovely gesture and something I’ve rarely encountered on a flight of this length.

This flight was a good reminder that even the shortest routes can still deliver a standout experience when the basics are done properly, and when the human element shines through.

Watch here (if you wish):

Flight Details:

Route: London Heathrow (LHR) – Zürich (ZRH)
Airline: SWISS
Aircraft: Airbus A320-200 (HB-JDK)
Cabin: Economy
Flight time: 1h 14m
Fare: £126.72 one-way (cash ticket)

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable short-haul flight and a great example of how consistency, crew engagement, and attention to detail can make all the difference.
