I have a current reservation for the night of Dec 31 using my 85,000 point FNA that expires on January 3rd. It is now past the date I can cancel the room with no charge - could have been canceled no later than Dec 26.

Both my husband and I are sick - we keep hoping we will recover sufficiently to use the room, but as of this morning it's not looking hopeful. Before I phone the hotel, I just wondered if there were any options we can request.

First, when I go to the reservation, there seems to be an option to edit the itinerary to another date, but before I try that, does anyone know if that would be possible without charge (seeing as the 'cancel with no charge by' date has passed) and/or whether a new date would still be able to use the FNA? Understanding that the most we'd be able to push it is 2 days since the FNA expires on Jan 3.

If that isn't feasible, does anyone know if we will be able to cancel the room with the hotel, losing the FNA, but not be charged the resort fee and/or parking fee? I can accept that I'll lose the FNA, but there is a $56 resort fee and $43 parking fee that I'd like to not pay. Is it best to call the hotel to cancel or the Marriott central reservation line for this - and would we *only* lose the FNA and not be charged some one-night room rate? It does say that there is an early departure charge of one night's rate, but this is only a one-night stay for which we may need to cancel.

The hotel is sold out since it is NYE so I'm guessing there is a good chance they would be able to sell the room that night.
