Generally, yes.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked for a Sunday night in a 'good' room as the Saturday night wasn't available. As the Saturday became available booked that for only available 'base room' for a 2 night stay with two, separate bookings.
How are the rooms?
First night was cramped but can't complain as that was what I booked on a high-season day, hotel was aware and offered 2,000 points for the upgrade they couldn't offer. Kanazawa offers a full day of sightseeing so if you are just sleeping that off then that kind of room may be sufficient but for us it was noticeably more relaxing to move to the better room. One thing to note, we were out again early on the second day and the front organised the moving of the suitcases we'd left in room 1 to room 2 but, here's the thing, they also managed the carton of milk we'd left in the fridge and forgotten about which I think is noteworthy.

What was good and what was bad?
The breakfast on entry seemed the normal Crowne Plaza style however there were a number of corners with unique local cuisine (none of which I particularly enjoyed) that added value and the staff were particularly efficient and friendly.
Staff at the front desk were always on top of some of the complexities of the bookings, more so than myself at some points.
