I am now on a US trip, I am a Lifetime Diamond member, and one of the Diamond privileges is free Premium internet. That has always worked fine, logging on to the Hhonors network and entering last name and room number. But not any more!
I have visited 2 Hiltons and 2 HGI on this trip. On the Hiltons, after giving name and room, I get the choice between slow, standard internet for $14 of Premium for $19. No free option. On HGI I get the choice between free slow, standard internet or pay for Premium.
None of the hotels has been able to help. They can offer me a free promo code, but that is for the slow, standard internet.
It's strange that this has happened to all 4 hotels I have stayed at. It has never happened before.
The solution is to select the paid option and then argue with the front desk to get them to remove the charge. Its no fun!
I contacted the Hilton X-support. They say that the WiFi is the hotels responsibility, and they can not help.
It is really frustrating. And nobody will help.
