I went through the booking flow and it is not mentioned at all. The policies say:

Does your regular bar or restaurant have a 'tip expected' listed somewhere? Or any other US-based service business? They don't and thus it is not enforceable, like leaving a restaurant w/o leaving a tip ... the server may run after you, but legally? Anyway ... same thing here.

Was it worth it? I'd say it was worth it at the point rate we paid - 5 nights @ 520k points. Right now? That has gone up to 960k points and I have a much harder time justifying that to be honest. Some of the SLH hotels have increased dramatically ...still a decent value considering cash prices.
