I refuse to rent from Hertz franchise locations. It's an invitation for problems.

When we get search functionality back, do a search on the topic. There was a thread here about 2 years ago with a lot of complaining about franchise locations.

I don't understand why Hertz can't say - in their contracts with the franchisee - that the location must honor programs, policies, processes, etc. of Hertz or else they are no longer a Hertz.

Ten years ago, I would've said that McDonald's is the model by which all companies that have franchisees should follow. I thought of McD's as the cleanest, best service, and most consistent of all the fast-food chains. Maybe I'm just not as much of a fast-food fan anymore, but they don't seem as clean and well-run as they once did. Still far, far better than Burger King or Wendy's, but not the gold standard. McD's other chain (Chipotle) seems to be very well-run and clean.
