I know this flight departs at the ungodly hour of 01:50 local time, but that's no excuse for the complete lack of welcome onboard I received last month. Pre-departure drinks of pre-poured champagne or orange juice were offered from a tray - my request for sparkling water (usually honoured despite not being formally part of the offering at this stage of the flight) was denied.

Once in the air, it was straight to sleep for me, although plenty of passengers will have been on very different time zones given DOH's connecting hub status. Those passengers would have been disappointed to find a choice of two wraps for their dinner - or 'little nibble' as the menu suggested.

I woke up slightly earlier than planned, and took the Greek yogurt and fresh seasonal fruit for breakfast, which was nice enough. The lack of a bread plate in Club World (and Club Europe for that matter) still annoys me. Apologies for the dimly lit picture here - my overhead light was kaput.

A dismal menu and a dismal crew, in one flight summing up much of what is wrong with BA at the moment.
