It is true that some Asian carriers tend to offer a more *consistent* product overall. However, when everything falls into place, the likes of AC, BA, AF, KL, VS, CO, and even NW usually approach, if not EXCEED, the flying experience on the Asian carriers, especially in the business-class arena. Unfortunately, many travelers buy into the marketing hype of the larger Asian carriers and believe that NH/SQ/CX do something borderline-magical while the reality is that they simply take slightly better than mediocre offerings and hyper-gloss 'em up with pretty girls and sleek advertising.
