What is not clear is if booking thru Ctrip is giving you status benefits. It's written it's giving you points, but nothing about usual benefits Platinum/Diamond members are supposed to get when booking direct so I assume you don't get any.

Because a 15% discount is not worth it if it means you are giving up on upgrade, breakfast and lounge access.

For the BT the price difference is indeed huge! But I am wondering if it's not a very exceptional price. On your screenshot, it's written "newbie offer". So maybe it's a special price because it's the first time you are using this service?
