The situation isn't typical. You never earn points when booking thru others OTA. In this particular case, you can link your ALL membership and receive points, I have never seen that anywhere else. Usually you can do that only when booking tru TA or special programs like Amex, never thru pure OTA. However, I am not sure which other benefits you can get (if any).
