I just checked in for my stay at the Intercontinental Halong Bay and they're fullying honoring my Diamond and Ambassador benefits. Interestingly, there was no mention of Chase The Edit at all when I checked in, so I'm curious to see if there's any issue applying the $100 dining credits, since those are really the only additional perks for me beyond my existing IHG status. They also gave me a spectacular upgrade to a multi-bedroom residence, but again they may have just done that due to status and not The Edit, since room rates are currently very reasonable and the hotel isn't busy. Overall, it's been a great hotel experience which I'll review separately in the master thread when I'm home, though I'm not sure how value Chase has added to what's otherwise a very generous and well-managed hotel that seems to be taking good care of elite members.
I do expect Diamond + Ambassador to be quite nice overseas, especially in Asia. Even as just a Platinum member, we were *always* upgraded to a junior suite at the Intercontinental Seoul Parnas. I'm curious what will happen if we book that hotel as a Diamond Ambassador. Maybe they'll upgrade us even further? Who knows.
