I just booked a stay at the Intercontinental Barclay via The Edit and it DOES show up in my IHG app as a legitimate IHG stay with a note saying I should be able to enjoy Diamond status benefits. What I was less sure of is whether or not they will also honor Ambassador benefits. I wrote to the hotel to ask about this, we'll see what they say, but I am heartened by the message above regarding Diamond Ambassador benefits.
