JFK - EZE - Premium Select - Red Curry Chicken
EZE - ATL - D1 Beef Short Rib with Peppercorn sauce. Not good, at all. Beef was so dry it was tough to eat. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box, and were incredibly salty.
Service on this flight was not great, not the crews fault though. Purser made it very well known that 3x crew members were pulled off the flight to service domestic flights, leaving the A339 staffed with 7 instead of 10. That meant only 2x FA for D1 vs 4, and coach was down 1 FA as well. Nearly a 2 hour service with forced " dine and rest" everything served together. I understand it given the crew shortage, but seriously not the "premium" DL experience that Ed loves to talk about.
Well-timed post, since I have all these meal options coming up for some flights. The short rib with peppercorn sounded good, hopefully it was just a one-off with how dry it was? I'm not a huge mashed potato fan, but I believe my sides were slightly different. Was it the garlic potatotes?
I've had the red curry chicken before, but that chicken looks very different; usually it's been shredded like in an actual curry. For the green curry chicken, how is it with the sweet potatoes? Seems like an interesting combo. Are there mushrooms in it? They love to sneak them in.
Also, very surprised they sent you out short of FAs on an overseas flight.
